Reverend Edward Hartley Dewart was born March 30th, 1828, in Ireland. He died June 17, 1803, in Toronto, Ontario, age 75. He is buried in Toronto’s Necropolis cemetery.
Dewart’s “Selections from Canadian Poets” in 1864 was the first anthology of verse of Canadian poets to be published in Canada.
